ADAM PEATY is struggling for motivation as he continues to utterly dominate life in the fast line.

The English torpedo found little to cheer despite collecting another Commonwealth gold and extending his unbeaten run to an incredible four years.

Now he hopes to take his inspiration from former track legend Ed Moses, who once won 122 consecutive races over a ten-year period.

Peaty admitted he was way off his best in yesterday’s 100m breaststroke final but still had far too much for all his swimming rivals.

He said: “I’m not happy with that performance and it was the first time ever I didn’t feel in control of my race.

“The most worrying thing for me is how I can keep the sport new, how I can keep my motivation.

"That’s going to be my next challenge.

“At the final touch you go ‘Oh my god, I’ve won gold’ but then I look at the time and think ‘that’s not the best version of myself’.

“I’m obsessed with self-improvement and this last season I’ve stopped enjoying it as much as I did two or three years ago.”

Yet Peaty, 22, certainly isn’t planning on abdicating his throne any time soon.

He added: “I can go undefeated a lifetime if I keep at it.

“It all comes down to pushing and pushing myself to get one up on the rest of the competition.

“Ed Moses is a cool guy and I’m pretty sure how he kept himself motivated by spending more time with his friends and enjoying it.

“So I’ll get the 50metres out of the way and then a few beers will definitely be in order, just to keep my sanity.”
