When will the 22nd Commonwealth Games be?
THE next Commonwealth Games will be held between July 27 and August 7, 2022.
Birmingham was announced as the host on December, 21 2017.
They will be using 95% of the already standing venues but the Alexander Stadium will be getting a renovation.
Victoria, Canada and Liverpool, England put bids in to host the Games.
The Canadan bid was withdrawn after the British Columbia government revealed it would not support the bid.
With two UK cities left in the running, Birmingham was announced as the hosts.
How was Birmingham selected?
THE city of Durban, South Africa was initially selected as the host of the 2022 Games.
They were stripped of the rights to host in March 2017 due to financial constraints.
