Real Madrid star Gareth Bale likely to stay rather than move to Manchester United or Tottenham, according to bookies

Wales international has been consistently linked with a return to the Premier League

REAL MADRID are favourites to keep hold of Gareth Bale in the summer despite rumours of interest from Manchester United and Tottenham.

The Wales international is reportedly unsettled at the Bernabeu but the bookies don't see him moving on in the next transfer window.

Bale has struggled to meet his incredibly high standards in the past two years due to a string of injuries.

But despite not fulfilling his expectations, Sun Bets have Bale at 4/6 to stay at Real Madrid rather than join Manchester United or Tottenham who he has been heavily linked with.

The bookies have him at 11/8 to join the Red Devils, while he is priced at 7/2 return to Spurs.

Manchester United and Tottenham have been linked with a move for the forward.

Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane dismissed rumours suggesting Bale and Benzema are on their way out of Madrid.

He said: "We need them and I’ll do everything possible so that they’re not affected by what’s been said outside.

"They’ll stay with us.

“I know all our players want to play, but it isn’t possible.

“The message is for everyone, not just Bale and Benzema, that we’re sticking together because there’s a month left of the season and we have it all to do.

“If any player isn’t 100 percent, he won’t be in the squad. Double or the Champions League?

"Everything has value, I can’t choose one or the other, but what we can win is the Champions League and we’re going to give everything for it.”

Sun Bets spokesman Tim Reynolds said: "Gareth Bale being linked with a return back to the Premier League is a transfer rumour that has come and gone over the past few years.

"We expect him to stay at Madrid, especially after Manchester United recently signed Alexis Sanchez - who is now the highest paid player in the Premier League, pocketing £505,000 a week.

"Meanwhile Spurs are not known for splashing the cash on transfers and with their new stadium being built, funds will be restricted.

"Bale put pen to paper on a new deal in 2016, keeping him at the Bernabeu until 2022, meaning Madrid can demand a high transfer fee."
