Bumble, an app where women make the first move, will have their "empowerment badge" stitched onto the front of the vest.

It is expected to cost the four-year-old dating app almost £15m for three years, around £5m per season.

The Los Angeles Clippers have the largest female leadership team in the league, which is understood to have been a huge selling point.

The NBA side shared an image of their newly-branded jerseys, captioned: "This partnership is more than a patch.

Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd believes that this is a huge move for both the app and the sport.

She said: "Never before has a major professional sports team partnered in this way with a female-driven brand like Bumble.

"It's an honour to partner with an organisation as progressive and compassionate as the Clippers.

"Like us, they know generating awareness for diversity and gender equality is critical to business success."
