Eddie Hearn jabs back at Deontay Wilder following his ‘milking’ Anthony Joshua jibe and offers to sign him up

EDDIE HEARN has hit back at Deontay Wilder and claimed the WBC champion should join his Matchroom ranks because his “udders are dry”.

The British promoter was accused of “milking Anthony Joshua dry” last night in a verbal punch by the American.

But Hearn jabbed back at the 32-year-old, who defends his belt against Luis Ortiz on Saturday, with some stinging words of his own, and offered to help the star earn some proper money.

Speaking to Behind The Ropes, he said: “I saw his comments, ‘I’m milking AJ,’ he’s just got a chip on his shoulder because he’s udders are dry, there’s nothing to milk with Deontay Wilder.

“We don’t want to milk with Anthony Joshua, that’s why he’s fought Wladimir Klitschko, that’s why he’s fought Joseph Parker, that’s why he’ll fight Deontay Wilder and that’s why we want to fight Tyson Fury.”

He then offered Wilder, who claims he has been trying to secure a fight against Joshua for years, the opportunity to pick up the phone and come join his stable of boxing talent.

Hearn added: “I don’t think he has a promoter, so if you’re out there Deontay, give me a call son.

“He says he’s been trying to make this fight for like three years.

“AJ’s been a pro for four years, what was he trying to make the fight when AJ was like 5-0?

“But let’s look at the facts - the reality. Deontay Wilder’s been a pro for 10 years, he’s had 39 fights, this is his seventh defence of a world title, he’s never had a unification, he’s never been close to having a unification fight.

“AJ’s has 20 fights, he’s been a pro for four years, this is his fifth world title defence and his second unification, it’s all he wants to do is get the belts.

“Wilder’s sitting there - ‘I just want the belts - one champion,’ yeah but what you doing about it? Nothing.

“You can’t make a unification fight, so you’ve either got to get with someone who can make you a unification fight or get real with your demands. We want the fight.”

Hearn was responding after Wilder took aim at him following months of unsuccessful negotiations for  a huge showdown with AJ.

Wilder had said: “Eddie Hearn is just another white man milking a black man, that's all it is. It's easy.

“It's about time for somebody to say it and come out with it and I don't care who hears it. I don't hold my voice and I don't have any filters, I speak what I think.”
