WAYNE ROONEY returned to his old stomping ground today with his eldest son to watch Manchester United take on Chelsea.
The Everton star's kids have been spotted in an array of kits, but perhaps his 13 years at the club ensured they were United fans.
Rooney has faced a tough week with news of a hefty tax bill, that has left him owing the taxman £5million, coupled with losing to Watford yesterday.
He was instructed by so-called experts to make investments, which have now backfired.
The ex-United star brought his son Kai along to enjoy the game and watched the action from the directors box.
Although, as Chelsea took the lead in the first half Rooney didn't look too impressed and was caught yawning.
He looked more animated as Romelu Lukaku equalised before half time and will hope his presence at the Theatre of Dreams has more impact than it did for Everton at Vicarage Road yesterday.
He may have only left the club in the summer, but he was welcomed back with open arms as he holds the mantle for the club's all-time best goal scorer.
Rooney cemented his place as a United legend throughout his time at the club, where he helped them win an array of trophies.

It's not the first time he has been back at Old Trafford since he returned to Everton, he was spotted watching the Red Devils play in their Champions League fixture in December.
Although, this time he was accompanied by the next generation of Rooney footballers, instead of an old team-mate, as they braved the bitter February weather by placing a blankets over their knees.
The father of four recently showed off snaps of his new five-a-side team as he and his wife welcomed their fourth son Cass.
And with four boys in a footballer's household, the youngsters seem as football mad as their dad.
