The 30-year-old Northern Irishman split from legend McGuigan's Cyclone Promotions last summer to sign with Frank Warren
CARL FRAMPTON is taking his former manager Barry McGuigan to court over money disputes from his previous fights.
Frampton, a two-weight world champion, split with McGuigan’s Cyclone Promotions last summer to sign for promoter Frank Warren.
The Northern Irishman, 30, has lodged a writ at the High Court in Northern Ireland against the 56-year-old, his wife Sandra McGuigan and Cyclone Promotions.
A preliminary hearing in Belfast on Friday, to decide the proper jurisdiction for the boxer’s claim, has been adjourned.
Frampton’s writ forms the basis of his counter-claim after proceedings were brought against him by Cyclone Promotions back in November.
McGuigan and his partner are directors in the family-run business, while their son Shane was a former trainer of the Jackal.
The writ refers to contracts for bouts of Frampton‘s in Northern Ireland, the United States and England.
Cyclone Promotions’ case will be dealt with at the High Court in London.
