Sports stars are A-listers these days, so it's no surprise when they end up dating famous faces in the world of entertainment.
After all, couples like Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen, David and Victoria Beckham and even Shakira and Gerard Pique are still thriving in the limelight.
But at SunSport we wanted to celebrate the hook-ups that didn't quite make it.
In fact, you may have just forgotten they even dated.
Burt Reynolds and Chris Evert
After breaking up with Jimmy Connors, tennis legend Chris embarked on a romance with Reynolds in 1977.
At that time, Burt was the biggest actor in Hollywood after starring in Deliverance, The Mean Machine and Smokey and the Bandit.
Needless to say, their relationship was the talk of the town and made the pair headline news.
Their short dalliance didn't last, however, and she ended up marrying John Lloyd instead.

Madonna and Dennis Rodman
Their wild romance began in 1996, she was the biggest pop star on the planet while he was scooping NBA Championships with the Chicago Bulls.
According to Rodman in his book 'Bad As I Wanna Be', he claimed the Queen of Pop was desperate for his baby.
In fact, he said she once flew from Las Vegas to New York when she knew she was fertile just to have sex with him. His words, not ours.
Pamela Anderson and Eddie Irvine
Eddie has a fine history in wooing the ladies, so it was no surprise that he managed to score a date with the Baywatch beauty.
It all happened back in 2006 in LA when they were spied at a restaurant getting hot and heavy with one another.
The pair are reportedly still pals to this day, and attended the Amber Lounge F1 Driver Fashion Show together in Monaco.
Paris Hilton and Cristiano Ronaldo
2009, LA. Picture the scene. The most famous socialite in the US is spied cosying up to a Real Madrid-bound footballer.
It all happened at a former Hollywood nightspot called My House, and the pair partied until the early hours of the night.
However, it was only a fling and US reports claimed that Paris dumped Ron because she thought he was a 'sissy.'
Kate Hudson and Lance Armstong
After her high-profile break up with Hollywood A-lister Owen Wilson, Kate went on several dates with Lance.
They briefly courted in 2008 for several months before she then moved onto baseball star Alex Rodriguez.
Both of those sport stars faced scrutiny after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs in their sport.
And in an interview in 2014, Kate wasn't afraid to voice her opinion on the matter.
"I personally think that you make the choices you make and you should reap the consequences," Hudson said.
"People have a right to (feel betrayed). Lance and Alex are phenomenal athletes who have made some bad choices and let a lot of people down."
Bianca Jagger and Bjorn Borg
Although they kept their romance away from prying eyes, these two were a couple for a brief minute.
They were first spied together looking cosy at the infamous New York hotspot Studio 54.
Incidentally, that was where she use to frequent with ex-husband Mick Jagger in the 70s.
She divorced Jagger in 1979 and in or around that year Bianca briefly hooked up with tennis legend Bjorn.
Needless to say, she was probably 'Bjorn again' dating the Swede.
Naomi Campbell and Mike Tyson
'Iron Mike' and his fling with Naomi was something that never made it to the tabloids.
They were introduced to each other at a party by hip hop guru Russell Simmons and their heated romance began.
In fact, according to Tyson's former manager Rory Holloway when the pair met they immediately hooked up.
He claimed in a book that he was left holding the drinks as the two disappeared into a nearby bathroom together as an animal-like attraction kicked in.
Barbra Streisand and Andre Agassi
When Andre was a pin-up and top of his game, he began a celebrity romance with the songstress in 1990s.
It caused a bit of controversy given there was a 28-year age difference.
"We agree that we're good for each other, and so what if she's twenty-eight years older?" Agassi once said.
"We're sympatico, and the public outcry only adds spice to our connection.
"It makes our friendship feel forbidden, taboo – another piece of my overall rebellion.
"Dating Barbra Streisand is like wearing Hot Lava."
Donald Trump and Gabriela Sabatini
When the Argie sensation was just 19-years-old, she was courted by the former President of the United States.
Gabriela dated Donald for around a month in 1989 when he was said to be on a break from second wife Marla Marples.
However, he soon broke it off with the tennis star and reunited with Marples, while divorcing first wife Ivana.
Imogen Thomas and Jermain Defoe
It's no secret that the former Miss Wales had a penchant for footballers.
She was wooed by Cristiano Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs, who famously tried to get an injunction out on her to keep his extra-marital affair a secret.
But it's her 2009 dalliance with Defoe we're focused on, because they lived together and even shared a cat.
However, she admitted she got paranoid dating a footballer and their romance ended after just six months.
Common and Serena Williams
Before she married Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, the tennis legend had a public romance with rapper Common.
The pair dated on/off from 2007-2010, but they broke up two weeks after Common gushed about Serena on Ellen DeGeneres' chat show.
"I definitely want to get married," he told Ellen. "I would love to get married and have kids." Sadly, it wasn't with Serena.
Tara Reid and Mark Philippoussis
The now retired Aussie tennis star got a serving of American Pie with Tara Reid back in 2003.
He also dated her co-star Shannon Elizabeth later 2007, and his ex list is impressive with Paris Hilton and Delta Goodrem in the mix too.
So smitten was Tara with the big-hitting server, she played the role of cheer-leading girlfriend at the US Open in the early 2000s.
Danielle Lloyd and Lewis Hamilton
When Lewis was an unknown teenage driver, and before he got together with Nicole Scherzinger, he had a fling with Danielle.
The pair met at celebrity haunt 10 Room in 2002, swapped numbers and embarked on a six month tryst.
However, the long-distance from Liverpool to London got the better of the two and they finally broke up.
The pair did remain friends, and he even turned up to see her crowned Miss England in 2004.
Caprice and Tony Adams
It was like Tony's Christmases had all come at once.
Shortly after he led the Gunners to a league and cup double, he met stunning model Caprice.
They were the unlikely couple of the late 90s, but he admitted in his autobiography Sober that he dumped her because there was no emotional connection.
The pair almost got an opportunity to reunite years later on Celebrity Big Brother, but the England defender admitted he turned down the chance.
Davina McCall and Stan Collymore
It was the late 90s, Cool Brittania was beginning to seem a distant memory and TV personalities and footballers became synonymous with dating.
In 1998 Stan dated Ulrika Jonsson and he also had a romance with Davina.
He admitted in his autobiography Tackling My Demons that if Ulrika hadn't messed with his head, he would've married the former Big Brother host.
