Benn hit the Mexican with a second-round body shot to send his opponent to the canvas.

He said: “The way they do things here is completely different. It will take a while to get used to. “But when it comes to the time to fight here — potentially for titles — I will know what I’m in for.”

His father Nigel Benn had 24 fights before making his US debut.

Conor said: “When I speak to my dad it brings confidence, he’s done it, he’s conquered it, and I plan to do the same.”

The 21-year-old will take on Peynaud at London’s York Hall.

It is earlier than usual for a chief support fight because York Hall is within a residential area.
