Pep Guardiola vs Paul Tisdale: football managers as fashion icons but who is the better dressed?

Pep Guardiola is ruling British football with his Man City side sweeping all before them, but in the style stakes he has a rival. Step forward, pork pie hat-wearing Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale who is will brighten up the FA Cup this weekend

PEP Guardiola and his Man City team are untouchable at the moment, but in the fashion stakes the Spanish manager may have met his match.

Exeter City's Paul Tisdale, 44, isn't afraid to push the fashion boundaries, often seen wearing a pork pie hat or a trendy flat cap, while watching his team from the bench.

Their styles are different, with Tisdale opting for more daring outfits and outstanding head wear.

Pep, 46, favours a tailored suit, those huge scarfs and isn't afraid to wear a roll-neck as he barks orders to his charges from the touchline.

He also loves Stone Island clobber too, but it looks like he's had to ditch his favourite label for Man City's official fashion wear sponsor Dsquared2.

Tisdale is a brand ambassador with Ted Baker, spending a lot of time at their headquarters with the clothes designer's founder Ray Kelvin in crafting his look.

This weekend both managers will be pacing the sidelines looking catwalk-ready in the FA Cup third round.

Pep Guardiola says he told his Manchester City players to celebrate at the final whistle and in the dressing room but denies they will win the quadruple

All eyes will be on Exeter and Tisdale as they welcome Premier League side West Brom to St. James Park.

While Guardiola's unbeaten City side welcome Burnley to the City of Manchester stadium.

But who's the better dressed manager? Pep or Paul?

Who does casual better?

When it's preseason, Guardiola tends to ditch his tight trousers, shirts, jumpers and blazers for a more relaxed jean and polo shirt look.

He even once wore a chequered shirt, faded denim jeans and red Adidas trainers while managing Bayern Munich.

But given his casual look, his trainers were still on point and representing his team's colours.

Like his counterpart, Tisdale also enjoys the summer preseason months wearing bright Ted Baker polo shirts.

He often pairs them with a light coloured trouser and white shoes. The sun never sets on cool for Tisdale who has worn shades while managing his side before.

Who looks cooler in a hat?

The 'Peaky Blinders' flat cap is favoured by both managers, but Guardiola tends to wear his only when he's on personal errands and not on duty with City.

Still, he manages to pull off the look brilliantly, looking as stylish as ever.

Tisdale has worn all manner of flat caps on the touchline, including one headpiece that resembled an old international cap from the 1930s.

Most of his hat wear appears vintage, and would suit hunting season as much as a campaign in the EFL League Two.

Tisdale's also been known to wear a beanie with a blazer during games in the cold, winter months.

But where he really raises the bar is with his penchant for a pork pie hat, and that makes him really stand out from the crowd.

And he always makes sure there are some feathers attached to the side, scoring him additional style points.

If there The Specials ever needed a new frontman, he would likely be the obvious choice.

Who wears nicer coats?

Guardiola's coat game is strong. Whether it's a Stone Island jacket or a Dsquared2 number, he always wears a well-fitted jacket.

But he doesn't show much variety in terms of colour, preferring to go with black instead of anything else.

Tisdale likes to wear parkas, raincoats and long macs ranging in army green to burgundy to navy.

Keeping warm is definitely the aim of the game for him, but he still manages to remain trendy with it.

Tisdale has even channelled his inner farmer on the bench before, wearing a tweed blazer and a pair of corduroy trousers.

Who looks better in a suit?

This is where Guardiola comes into his own... The former Barcelona coach is an immaculate suit-wearer.

And he doesn't cut corners either. Pep makes sure he's always got a tie on, and his shirts are crisp -- either sky blue or white.

For added comfort, Pep wears cashmere v-neck jumpers over the top of his shirt to stay warm in the technical dugout.

Tisdale doesn't technically wear a suit when he's on duty, organising his team's tactics.

He prefers trousers in burgundy or navy and doesn't wear a blazer of the same colour ever.

And when he does wear a jumper, he prefers to go much more casual than Pep and doesn't wear a tie.

And we have a winner... Tisdale narrowly beats Guardiola 38-37.

And with a bit of luck, maybe these two will face off against each other in the FA Cup at a later round.
