Anthony Joshua invites Thierry Henry round for Christmas dinner after meeting Arsenal legend following Sports Personality of the Year nomination

ANTHONY JOSHUA has already made many friends on his way to the top in boxing - and now he's added a football legend to that list.

The current IBF, WBA and IBO heavyweight world champ met up with Arsenal and France legend Thierry Henry recently.

And the pair clearly got on like the proverbial house on fire - so much so that AJ invited the Belgium coach round to his for Christmas dinner.

He then shared a clip of the two of them together to his Instagram page.

Joshua's popularity could well be displayed to the max on December 17 when he is shortlisted for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

Joshua is one of 12 British athletes shortlisted for the awards with the winner to be named at Liverpool's Echo Arena.

In with a shot of glory are the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Harry Kane, Sir Mo Farah and Johanna Konta.

But Joshua is currently the big odds-on favourite to scoop the award after becoming the hottest property in world boxing.

In April this year AJ announced himself spectacularly with a stunning 11th-round KO of legend Wladimir Klitschko, forcing the Ukrainian into retirement.

And he appears to be set to return to the O2 Arena in March 2018... if Joseph Parker terms can be agreed.

AJ's promoter Eddie Hearn says he's increasingly confident a fight could finally go ahead after drawn-out discussions over the purse.

Parker's team had wanted 40 per cent of the pot, but will now settle for 35 per cent.

The New Zealand boxer is the current WBO champ, so has his own gold to bring to the table.
