Allardyce had been looked at as a short term option a couple of weeks ago before he pulled out of the race because he wanted a lengthy deal.

However owner Farhad Moshiri has revived the interest and it will now come down to finding a contract that suits all parties.

Allardyce wants a two and a half year deal but may compromise with less if the terms and bonuses are attractive.

Moshiri has failed to land Watford’s Marco Silva and original choice Carlo Ancelotti will not budge either.
