WWE planning to announce the first ever female Royal Rumble for January after NXT influx of stars
The women's divisions of Raw and SmackDown were bolstered this week and now the wrestling company is set to make an historic announcement that could lead to Ronda Rousey making her debut
WWE are planning to announce the historic first-ever women’s Royal Rumble match, SunSport understands.
Both the Raw and SmackDown Live rosters have been rocked this week with the additions of a host of female superstars.
Former Divas champion Paige stormed back into WWE after a year-long absence on Monday night.
And she was accompanied on by two debuting NXT prospects Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose, and the trio laid a vicious beatdown on Sasha Banks, Mickie James, Bayley and then Alexa Bliss.
If those additions were not enough, the following night on produced fireworks of its own in the women’s division.
The NXT invasion continued as Ruby Riot, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan attacked Naomi and Becky Lynch backstage.
And now SunSport can reveal that the influx of females into the female roster is building up to the historic first-ever women’s Rumble match on January 28 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
The level of female talent currently within the WWE is unrivalled anywhere on the planet and it has enjoyed a huge rise over recent years.

That has led to a number of huge numbers from various fighting combats wanting to get involved, with UFC mega-star Ronda Rousey already training with the company.
And Vince McMahon and his WWE chiefs could be plotting for her to make a blockbuster debut by winning the Rumble and earning a title shot against the SmackDown Women’s champion.

But now the event is set to be confirmed, although the details remain scarce and it is possible it may not have entrants as in the male equivalent.
A number of women on the roster have already spoken on the possibility of a women’s Rumble.
