Tony Bellew not confident David Haye fight will happen as heavyweight rival ‘can’t be trusted’
The Liverpool boxer pointed out that Haye has withdrawn from a number of fights in the past and questioned whether his body is up for it
TONY BELLEW has cast doubt over whether David Haye can be "trusted" for the rematch following the postponement of their blockbuster boxing clash.
Haye sustained a bicep injury in training camp that has resulted in the fight being put back to March or May next year.
And "Bomber" Bellew has sent a warning to his heavyweight rival telling him he will not wait around forever for "The Haymaker" to recover from the injury.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Bellew said: "I am looking at a postponement and getting it on in the first couple of weeks in March. But can David be ready? Can he be trusted?
"This is the fourth fight that David has pulled out of in his last eight scheduled bouts. Once against Wladimir Klitschko, two against Tyson Fury and now me.
"He has torn some serious muscle groups in his body. Both biceps, his Achilles, his hamstring - what is going to go next?
"I'm not too sure I can wait around for this to happen again."
Haye has insisted he will be back and ready in either March or May next year but Bellew has sent the Bermondsey boxer a deadline of the first couple of weeks of March 2018.
GLENN McCRORY David Haye's glory years are DEFINITELY OVER
And after a gruelling training camp only for the fight to fall through, Bellew could even have a warm-up fight before the rematch.
He added: "Ideally I'd like to take a bout before. I want to stay busy, I've been known my whole career as an active fighter.

"I will have been out of the ring for a year, and that's not good for me. This is a job, I've got a family to feed.
"Maybe David will take an interim fight, and I'll take one too. Maybe, down the line, we meet again."
Bellew shocked the boxing world when he stopped Haye in the 11th round in the first fight after his opponent pulled up with an Achilles injury early in the bout.
He says he is intent on fighting the 37-year-old a second time to “put it to rest.”
Bellew said: "I've always been a massive underdog. People said I was crazy [before the first fight] but look what happened.

On the postponement he added: "It's heart-breaking, it's devastating. To get the phone call that David is out was a shattering blow.
“I've spent thousands of pounds on a camp. I've been in camp for 10 weeks of a 14-week camp.
"My trainer, Dave Coldwell, has spent half that time coming to Liverpool to help me get over the personal problems that I've had."
