Billy Joe Saunders called out by Gennady Golovkin… if Canelo Alvarez rematch is not signed
GENNADY GOLOVKIN wants to fight Billy Joe Saunders and unify the middleweight division - if the knockout king can't agree a massive rematch with Saul Alvarez.
The Kazakh superstar currently holds the IBF, IBO, WBC and WBA straps, with Saunders holding the remaining WBC crown.
Golovkin and Alvarez's camps are currently in talks to arrange a highly-anticipated rematch on May 5 next year.
The pair fought to a controversial draw back in September, with judge Adelaide Byrd facing huge criticism for scoring the bout 118-110 in Canelo's favour.
Promoter Oscar de la Hoya has said the rematch will "definitely happen", although it still needs to be formally agreed.
Golovkin, 35, still wants to unify, however.
