Marco Silva refuses to deny reports that he is keen to take the Everton job
MARCO SILVA refused to deny reports that he is interested in a move to Merseyside and remained coy on the subject.
The 40-year-old Watford boss has been heavily linked with the Everton job despite the Watford board rejecting their advances twice, but he has now ramped up rumours by skirting around the subject.
The Hornets' man has been a big hit since he arrived and has caught the eye of Everton's board during their managerial pursuit.
Should Silva fly the nest, he could reportedly receive a bumper pay packet and a lump sum to spend in January.
Silva didn't deny that he was interested in a move to Merseyside when pressed on the matter, despite Watford having issued a 'hands off' warning to the Toffees.
reports that the Portuguese said: "What I can tell you about this situation is I look at this like for some players when they play well, or somebody that the coach wants from another club."
At present, Watford have confirmed that there is no release clause in Silva's contract.
But with Silva remaining coy over the temptations of a move he could be leaving Watford after just a short, but successful, spell.
He said: "For me, now this is a case for the board and the owners to discuss."
The sacking of Ronald Koeman, after 16 months at the helm, has added insult to injury for the Toffees who have experienced testing times.

But they leapt up the table after their thrilling comback against Silva's side and will be hoping to build upon this over their next few games.
Should Silva decide against the move, the Toffees are considering Burnley's Sean Dyche and Sam Allardyce as English alternatives.
This weekend, Everton are away to Crystal Palace under caretaker manager David Winsworth and Silva's side host London rivals West Ham.
