David Haye is not injured and will fight Tony Bellew on December 17, says promoter Eddie Hearn
Hayemaker was reported to have been injured during training but the claims have been rejected by both camps
EDDIE HEARN has rubbished reports that David Haye's rematch with Tony Bellew was under threat due to injury.
ThatBoxingVoice podcast had claimed the Hayemaker suffered an injury during his training camp and was unsure of he would be fit for the December 17 clash.
But promoter Hearn has revealed Haye had spoke to Sky Sports and rubbished the rumour.
Hearn told IFL: "I said to Tony Bellew – it’s probably they’ve leaked that, because that’s the sort of thing they do.
"When that broke I had spoken to a member of his team about the undercard about an hour before.
"I know he was training yesterday morning with a corporate day for Park Plaza, training fine.
"So I was a bit taken aback by it. So I spoke to the team and they said absolutely no problem."
"Then Sky then spoke to David Haye and said – oh we’ve seen this and he said – absolutely not true. I’m 100 per cent ready to go December 17th. It’s on."
'MORE EXPLOSIVE' David Haye vs Tony Bellew II: Bellew promises to retire Haye in a ‘more explosive’ rematch
SunSport was the first to reveal Haye's Achilles tendon injury that had him fighting on one leg at one point during his 11th round loss to Bellew.
Hearn added: “You never know with Haye because he likes to play games, so does he leak that to make Tony Bellew think that he might be out the fight so he effects his preparation, I don’t know.
“But, as far as I’m concerned the fights on, Haye says he’s 100 per cent.
“I don’t think any fighters ever 100 percent but I know Haye’s fit and I know he’s been locking himself away training hard and I know how seriously he’s taking this fight, because he’s not running his mouth like he normally does.
