David Haye vs Tony Bellew II: Rematch ‘under serious threat’ due to injury
DAVID HAYE’S rematch with Tony Bellew is reportedly under serious threat due to injury.
According to Tha Boxing Voice Podcast, The Hayemaker has suffered a blow during training for the clash.
And that could force him to pull out of the showdown at The O2 on December 17.
The podcast claims that an insider in Haye’s camp has revealed the 37-year-old has the unknown injury – possibly costing him his chance of revenge against the Scouser.
No specific or further information on the alleged damage was given.
However, Haye has struggled with the Achilles injury he picked up in the first explosive fight between the pair back in March - which .
That allowed Bellew to go on and shock the boxing world by defeating him courtesy of an 11th round stoppage.
Haye required surgery after the fight and spent a lengthy spell away from the ring recovering before returning to set-up the highly-anticipated rematch.
HAYE VS BELLEW When is the rematch, what TV channel will it be on and how can I get tickets?
There is still no official confirmation from the Haye camp on the alleged new injury.
Bellew has promised to retire Haye and insisted that their rematch will be "more explosive" than the original.

The Liverpool-born fighter said: “I’m going to end David Haye’s career on December 17th.
“I don’t care what people think. Tell me I’m crazy, tell me I’m stupid.
“He’s been very silent and playing the nice guy at the moment. If you need me to be the bad guy mate, I can be whatever you want me to be.
“At the end of the day, he’s said so many things in the past, right now I think he’s run out of insults for me.
“I think we just want to punch each other in the face now and you’re going to get the chance on December 17th.
“I’m just looking forward to proving everyone wrong again, because according to the bookies I’m going to get spanked again.
“I just don’t see it that way. Let’s see if he can shut the mouthy Scouser up.”
He continued: “What you’re going to see on December 17, in my opinion, is two big cruiserweights get in the ring, that’s what I think. I don’t think David is going to be coming in heavy.
“I think he will have learnt his lesson last time, and I think we’ll see a different fight this time also, I really, really do believe that. Hopefully more explosive, if that’s possible.”
