GOLFER Lee Westwood settled his divorce at the last minute, avoiding a court showdown over his £50million fortune.
Ex-wife Laurae, 42, filed papers in Florida, where the couple had a home. She alleges he had an affair, which he denies.
She and Ryder Cup star Lee, 44, married in 1999 and had two children but split in 2015.
They were set to go to trial in Palm Beach but settled after he failed to appear for a deposition with her lawyers.
The court dissolved their marriage on October 30 after finding it was “irretrievably broken”.
Documents, seen by The Sun On Sunday, show that a ‘Final Judgment of Dissolution of Marriage’ stated the marriage has been dissolved.
It stated: “The marriage of the parties is dissolved because the marriage is irretrievably broken, and each spouse is restored to the status of being single and unmarried.”
Westwood has scooped 42 titles in his 24-year career but never won a Major.
He was twice runner-up at the US Masters and finished second at the 2010 Open at St Andrews.
