With the WBA, IBF and IBO titles still firmly in the Brits grasp, he can move his sights to unify the heavyweight division by the end of next year.

To do that he must relieve Parker of his WBO belt and Wilder of his WBC title, but Hearn has also promised to throw in another heavyweight spectacle in to the mix.

Hearn said: "Deontay Wilder against AJ has to happen. There's also a great heavyweight called Tyson Fury who has to come back to the sport.

"Anthony Joshua wants to be in the real fights, I promise you, I promise the fans Anthony Joshua will give you the fights that you want, I promise you that."

"Deontay will be relieved of his belt in 2018 by Joshua."

The Olympic champion continued: "Providing I am free, I can't fight Joe Bloggs from anywhere - I have to fight championship fighters. These are the fighters I have to compete with.

"Now there are belts on the line there are obligations as champion, and once I fulfil those my door is open to any challenger. It's no problem."

Joshua has been linked with a fight abroad after switching to Cardiff following his victory over Wladimir Klitschko in London.

But both Hearn and Joshua insist they want to keep fighting on home soil.

Hearn said: "I don't think we should go abroad, I think we should stay right here."
