Anthony Joshua to fix broken nose as he looks to clean up heavyweight division after Carlos Takam knockout victory
British heavyweight suffered the injury after being headbutted by opponent during his fight at Cardiff.
ANTHONY JOSHUA will have doctors fix his broken nose before aiming to clean up the heavyweight division in 2018.
The fighter was bleeding heavily following a headbutt during his 10th-round stoppage of Carlos Takam in Cardiff.
Joshua reeled back as Takam's forehead crunched into his nose.
And slow-motion replays showed the bone being brutally smashed, with AJ clearly in pain.
Joshua, 28, said: “It feels broken and I could not breathe it could have been a massive disaster.
"He's like Holyfield coming under and up. This is championship fighting. I had to keep my cool in there.
“You have to control these situations, if I show any signs of weakness the referee could jump in.
“I want to get my nose cracked back in place first. We have a few months now to heal it up and get a doctor to look at it, we work with some great doctors and then we can get back in training.”
BLOOD AND BUTTS Anthony Joshua beats Carlos Takam by TKO in the 10th round of the bloody brawl
The heavyweight champ certainly looked disgruntled as he quickly regained his composure.
And Joshua soon had his revenge when he split Takam's eyebrow open in the following round.
Both fighters battled on and gave the crowd a real show as punches flew back and forth.
At one stage it seemed Takam's cut might spell the end of his evening.
But the veteran continued to take a pounding to the delight of the Cardiff crowd.
However, the fight was stopped by the ref in the 10th round, much to Takam's dismay.
