CRISTIANO RONALDO showed the apple didn't fall far from the tree by posting a video of his son Cristiano Jr netting a screamer from half-way in a kids game.

The seven-year-old scores a stunner as he lifts the ball over several defenders and fires it into the top-right corner.

The Real Madrid star's eldest child is named after his father and has a family nickname of Cristianinho, which means 'little Cristiano'.

It is clear to see that the child has inherited more than his father's dark locks as he scored the goal with such precision, and with a similar technique often seen from the No.7 at the Bernabeu.

His father proudly shared the video of his son in action on a sandy pitch and acknowledged the skill with an emoji- signalling that the shot was 'excellent'.

The miniature version of the Real Madrid star picked the ball up in midfield, moved it from his left foot to his right before lobbing the keeper who lay on the floor flawed by what he had just seen.

The footballer boasts 113million followers on his Instagram account and quickly clocked up over 5million views of the footage.

Followers of the Portuguese captain were quick to heap praise on the youngster with many commenting on his skills and drawing a comparison to his athletic father saying  'like father, like son'.

Ex-Manchester United team mate Rio Ferdinand spent some time with the two Cristiano's earlier this summer and witnessed first hand the skills of the next generation.

Ronaldo's mini-me proved he was a dab-hand at free kicks and put several shots past Ferdinand who stood in goal.

The striker has himself struggled to put balls into the back of the neck in Real Madrid's La Liga campaign as he has scored just once.

In the Champions League he has managed more goals and boasts five from three appearances.

Ronaldo was enjoying some downtime with his family in Madrid ahead of his next fixture against Eibar on Sunday, October 21.
