Arsenal target Karim Benzema ‘happy’ and wants to stay at Real Madrid, admits agent
The Frenchman has no intention of leaving the Spanish club quashing rumours of a move to Arsenal in the January transfer window
KARIM BENZEMA has no interest in a move to Arsenal and is very happy at Real Madrid, according to his agent.
Reports from Spain earlier in the week claimed Arsenal had tabled an offer for the French forward who was open to a move to the Emirates.
However according to Benzema's agent, Karim Djaziri, has quashed any speculation of a move from the Bernabeu.
Djaziri said: "Karim Benzema is very happy at Real Madrid.
"He signed a contract extension last month and has absolutely no intention of leaving the club."
The 29-year-old inked a new four-year deal with the Galacticos in September which included a £890million release clause.
The Gunners have long been linked with Benzema, but his new contract and Arsenal's club record-breaking signing of Alexandre Lacazette for £53m seemingly halted the speculation before his agent put an end to them for good.
The striker moved from his boyhood club Lyon to Real Madrid in 2009 and has scored 182 goals in 373 appearances helping the La Liga giants to two league titles and three Champions League crowns.
Although his season at Real Madrid has had a slow start this term making just five appearances in all competitions, scoring once.
He was also slated on social media after his header was saved at an almost impossible range when Real Madrid met Tottenham in the Champions League.
