Kell Brook taunts Amir Khan in new attempt to make grudge fight happen
All-British bout has been on the cards between the pair for years and looks to be shaping up
KELL BROOK taunted “Queen” Amir Khan in a fresh bid to make their all-British grudge fight a reality.
A bout has been on the cards between the pair for years and looks to be shaping up.
Both boxers suffered huge setbacks with defeats last time out – the second in success for Brook.
But the Sheffield fighter, 31, is desperate to get his career back on track by finally “smashing” his British rival.
Speaking at an App Emire UK event, he said: “I want to get in there and beat Queen Khan up.
“We all want to see me stood over him saying ‘Listen, I told you. I told you.’
“We want to make that fight happen. We all want to see it. I want to smash him.”
Brook shared the interview on social media, captioned: “Had a great time with my fans during @AppEmpireUK event. Now you all know I’ll be back.
“So, @amirkingkhan, you ready to dance?”
Brook lost the IBF welterweight title after being stopped by Errol Spence in the 11th round in May.
That came after a crushing defeat to Gennady Golovkin last September, when his trainer Dominic Ingle threw in the towel after a barrage of blows in the fifth round.
Khan, meanwhile, has not fought since a devastating sixth-round knockout at the hands of Canelo Alvarez in May 2016.
A public split with estranged wife Faryal Makhdoom and crippling hand injury have stopped his career since.
But the 30-year-old is eager to put difficulties in his private life behind him and get back into the ring.
He said: “I think people forget that I am a boxer, with everything that’s gone on with my family and going through the divorce and everything.
“I move away and need to put that behind me and do what I do best. I’ve got my gym and I need to start spending more time in the gym.
“The main thing is getting a fight date. One thing about the British fans is they forget a lot of things that have happened in the past.
“They’ll forget what’s happening in my life now and they’ll move onto something else.”
