Bayern Munich ‘in talks’ with former Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel over vacant manager’s position
The Bavarians see the former Borussia Dortmund boss as the top candidate to replace Carlo Ancelotti
THOMAS TUNCHEL is the current favourite to succeed Carlo Ancelotti at Bayern Munich as rumours circulate that talks are taking place.
The 44-year-old is in Munich according to German daily Bild and is negotiating a deal.
It comes just days after Carlo Ancelotti was sacked by the Bavarian side following a 3-0 Champions League defeat by Paris St-Germain.
Thomas Tuchel is currently seeking his next managerial role after he was dismissed from Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Tuchel led Dortmund to victory in the German Cup title, parted company with the club after two seasons in charge.
The German coach has had admirers over the last few months from the Premier League, Southampton back in the summer and most recently West Ham - he's a man in demand.
"We will now collect our information and then make a decision."
Salihamidzic added further that "it would be good" if the new coach spoke German.
Ex-Bayern defender Willy Sagnol has now stepped up to be appointed interim coach for Sunday's game at Hertha Berlin.
Bayern currently sit third in the Bundesliga table after six games, three points behind the leaders Borussia Dortmund.
