Jessica Ennis-Hill announces birth of second child Olivia with touching Instagram snap

Olympic hero already has a son, three-year-old Reggie who was pictured holding hands with his new sister

DAME Jessica Ennis-Hill has had a baby daughter.

The Olympic hero posted a touching snap of Olivia holding hands with her three-year-old son Reggie on Instagram on Sunday night.

The 31-year-old wrote: "Reggie meeting his beautiful baby sister Olivia Ennis-Hill, she was born Saturday night.

"We are all so in love with her."

Ennis-Hill and husband of four years Andy Hill, a construction manager, have also plumped for a rather popular name.

Olivia was revealed as the most popular name for girls in England and Wales in 2016.

Ennis-Hill retired from a glittering athletics career last September.

The heptathlete is one of Britain's most successful track athletes ever.

that she has been inspired by Serena Williams, who won the Australian Open in April while eight weeks pregnant.

She added: "I do think more sportswomen feel they can come back now.

"Now seeing more and more women do it from different sports will hopefully have a knock on effect.

"I’m sure Serena will come back and be an incredible athlete after she has given birth.

"But I couldn’t do it with two children."

The Sheffield-born star also said at the time that she hoped the birth of Olivia would be less painful than Reggie.

"I had never experienced pain that horrendous," said Ennis-Hill.

"You just can’t be prepared for it at all.

"But everyone says the second one is a bit easier. I’m hoping that’s the case."
