Liverpool ace Dejan Lovren and family ‘gassed by burglars’ as they slept in their home
The footy ace was renting a holiday home in Croatia when the thieves struck

PREMIER League ace Dejan Lovren fears he was gassed by burglars as he slept with his family.
The £100,000-a-week Liverpool defender was renting a holiday home when the gang struck, stealing jewellery and cash.
He revealed: “Yes, I was robbed. They have stolen everything from me. I heard absolutely nothing. It is as if they had put something in my apartment for me to fall asleep.
“They could have kidnapped my kids, and I wouldn’t have noticed at all.”
The raid came as the Croatian star and his family stayed at a flat in Zagreb.
The Sun on Sunday told last year how a gangster who had a fling with Lovren’s wife had targeted the ace in a £3.5million extortion plot.
Lovren, 28, has previously spoken of his concerns that his children could be abducted.
He said of the latest drama: “This is a tough period of my life. I am afraid they might kidnap my kids.
“It was my son’s birthday on the day and all this is going on.
“I’ve spent a lot of money for removing all the pics of my kids from the internet. I don’t know what would have happened had I been woken and found burglars.”
Zagreb police last week arrested four men, aged 25 to 33, over the raid in June.
Meanwhile Dario Torbic and his dad Damir are awaiting trial accused of the gunpoint kidnapping of a woman who tried to alert Lovren to the blackmail plot.
In 2015 former F1 world champion Jenson Button feared burglars gassed him and wife Jessica at their rented home in the southern French resort Saint-Tropez.
He believed crooks pumped toxic fumes into the air con system before stealing £300,000 worth of jewellery.
