MESUT OZIL is eyeing a sensational switch to Manchester United at the end of his contract, according to reports.
The Germany international will be free to leave Arsenal next summer as he continues to delay signing a new deal.
The 28-year-old has turned down lucrative offers to remain at the Emirates and looks increasingly likely to be heading for the exit door.
It is understood Arsenal offered Ozil £8.1million-per-year contract to stay at the club.
And according to German outlet SportBild, he wants to reunite with Jose Mourinho at the Red Devils.
Ozil played under the Portuguese boss whilst the pair were at Real Madrid together between 2010 and 2013.
The move would echo Robin van Persie who left the Gunners for Manchester United before firing the club to the Premier League title.
The Dutchman left Arsenal fans furious with the switch to their fierce rivals.

Arsenal team-mate Alexis Sanchez is also out of contract in the summer but unlike the Chilean, Ozil has failed to attract major interest across Europe.
His performances in an Arsenal shirt have been questioned by both supporters and club legends.
But Arsene Wenger does not believe his performances will be compromised mid speculation around his future.
He said: “When you’re a football player you perform until the last day of your contract. Whether you have two or one year left it doesn’t change."
