TWO former US Open champions are set to lock horns in a mouth-watering semi-final at Flushing Meadows.
In one corner there is Rafael Nadal, one of the finest players ever to play the game and a two-time champion.
And in the other, Argentine cult hero Juan Martin Del Potro, who won the tournament in 2009 with a stunning upset win over Roger Federer and repeated the feat by beating the Swiss in this year's quarter-final.
Del Potro also claimed he was about to retire in his fourth round match against Dominic Thiem, but the support of the crowd spurred him on to a five set victory.
