JACK WILSHERE rejected the chance to join Birmingham City on transfer deadline day, according to reports.
claims the injury-plagued, unwanted Arsenal midfielder has emerged as a shock target for Harry Redknapp at Birmingham.
Redknapp's side reportedly offered Wilshere £90,000 a week to join the Championship outfit.
However, the 25-year-old was not willing to drop down to Championship level at this stage of his career, and instead decided to fight for his Arsenal place.
The England international, who spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, has fallen down the pecking order at the north London side.
But Wilshere has been included in the Gunners' 25-man Premier League squad, following the close of the summer window.
When Redknapp was asked about the former Arsenal trainee earlier in the summer, he said: "People are trying to get Jack Wilshere obviously.
"I would love him but he won't come to the Championship.
