CARDIFF owner Vincent Tan branded former boss Malky Mackay an "idiot" after attending his first game since February 2016.
The Malaysian businessman saw the Bluebirds smash Aston Villa 3-0 and heaped praise on current chief Neil Warnock.
And eyeing another promotion, the City supremo launched into an astonishing rant about Mackay's failings - and the signing of Andreas Cornelius in particular.
Tan said: "It was unfortunate that we only stayed in the Premier League for one season.
"You know the main reason, I always say, and I have told Mehmet [Dalman, Cardiff's chairman] the same, is that we spent a lot of money there - I think it was £50m.
"What did we get? We paid £10.5m for Cornelius who didn't even play 45 minutes and then the manager said he was a project.
"I'm in the Premier League, I need to survive. What an idiot he [Mackay] is."
Cornelius arrived at City from FC Copenhagen in a £10.5million deal - picking up £45,000 per week in wages.

But he managed just eight substitute appearances before returning to Denmark just a year after arriving in 2013.
The Danish international joined Atalanta this summer and smashed seven goals in a friendly ahead of the Serie A season.
Cardiff, meanwhile, are currently top of the table and have won all three of their matches this season despite cutting their wage budget.
Tan told WalesOnline: "Neil is sensible. Neil knows the problems we had and the mistakes we have made before.
"So Neil is doing a great job and we are happy with him.
“I have been very busy and not been here for a while, but I’m very happy to be present for the first home match.
"We have good winning chances because we have a good manager, he has made some good transfers.
"We supported him with the transfers but I think we have paid good value for money – not like the way we paid £10.5m for Andreas Cornelius... oh I can never forget that."
