TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO star Deborah John is out of the World Championships after a horror fall in the 100m hurdles.
The last-minute call-up hit one of the barriers and lay face down on the track.
The Trinidadian missed out on the qualifying standard and was set to miss the championships.
But John managed to make it into the top 40 in the world rankings just in time to make the cut.
After he late call-up, she said: She said: “I was extremely happy and grateful to God when I got the news that I would have another opportunity to represent Him, my family, and my country on a global platform.”
Kendra Harrison qualified fastest from the heats in 12.60 seconds as the world record holder eased through.
The semi-finals take place on Saturday evening before the final on Sunday.
