Amir Khan calls a truce with Anthony Joshua after learning world champion did NOT sleep with his estranged wife Faryal Makhdoom
AMIR KHAN has called a truce with Anthony Joshua after learning the world heavyweight champion was NOT sleeping with his estranged wife.
Khan astonishingly claimed partner Faryal Makhdoom was having an affair with AJ in an explosive Twitter rant.
But Makhdoom this morning insisted pictures sent to her husband of her supposed conversation with Joshua were “fake.”
Makhdoom revealed: “I’ve been quiet for some time . . . because I myself didn’t know what’s going on.
“Everything that’s going on is just not right and a complete misunderstanding.
“The screenshots sent to Amir were ‘fake’ and Amir thought Joshua and I were speaking . . . when we have never even met.
“Anger took the better of him and he tweeted away without thinking there was absolutely NO truth to it.
“It’s all cleared up with both teams now and again, there was NOTHING like that going on.
“Apologies for all this nonsense. Let’s get on with life now . . .”
Khan then wrote to WBA, IBF and IBO king Joshua: “Glad all is cleared up and all lies.
“I got angry like any man would. No truth to it. Good to know. All the best.”
The 30-year-old also apologised for partying in Dubai with glamorous Instagram star and beauty adviser Gulbahor Becknazar after announcing his split with Makhdoom, 26.
He tweeted: “I partied in Dubai with friends to get my wife angry. Shouldn’t have. That’s not like me and I’ll prove that.”
Moments after apologising for his wild Dubai antics, he once again confirmed his marriage was over – though later deleted the tweet.
He wrote: “I still have made my decision to leave Faryal.
“It happens in life. The relationship was getting unhealthy.
“I wish her nothing but the best.”
The former WBA and IBF light-welterweight champ last week revealed plans to move on with his career following his chaotic private problems.
He has not fought since losing in the WBC world middleweight title fight to Saul Alvarez in May 2016.
But Khan vowed to get back to winning ways, writing: “Mid August I’m off to San Francisco to start my training.
“Putting everything behind me and moving forward. Get back on top with big fights.”
