The English striker has completed a move to Hertfordshire after a two year stay at Turf Moor

The Turf Moor side had previously turned down two offers from the Hertforshire-based side before accepting an offer they could not refuse.

It has emerged that the transfer comes after Burnley gaffer Sean Dyche prevented Gray's partner, Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock, from sitting in the directors' box because she was too famous.

There is no suggestion however that the incident contributed to the move.

Gray, who only had a year left on his Burnley contract, scored nine Premier League goals last season.

The Wolverhampton-born striker, who moved to Turf Moor from Brentford for £9 million in 2015, also provided three assists in the last campaign.

Brentford agreed a 20 percent sell-on fee from the sale two years ago and will gain £1.9 million from the deal.

The forward was thought to be seeking a transfer after turning down a new deal at the Premier League club.

Gray is no stranger to controversy and was handed a four-match ban during the 2016/17 season for homophobic tweets he sent in 2012.
