Thomas - who scored seven goals last season - will cost the Foxes just £450,000 in compensation plus add-ons.

He has signed a three-year deal with the former Premier League champions, who will hope to have another Jamie Vardy on their hands.

The 20-year-old made his first-team debut in 2014 aged just 16 and went on to establish himself at the Ricoh Arena.

In May, Thomas scored a stunning winner as the Sky Blues beat Oxford to win the EFL trophy at Wembley.

The Dragons youngster spent the summer at the Toulon Tournament, where he bagged an impressive brace in a 2-2 draw with the Ivory Coast.

Announcing the departure, Sky Blues boss Mark Robins said: "We are disappointed George has come to this decision.
