Despite Negredo turning down offers from Turkey in the past, the move to Besiktas is looking imminent.

The 31-year-old joined Middlesbrough on loan last season, scoring on his first appearance and putting them ahead in a 1-1 draw against Stoke City.

He netted 10 Premier League goals for Boro in total and had a spell at Manchester City earlier in his career.

As Middlesbrough were relegated from the Premier League, Negredo's loan seemed to be looked at as a disappointing spell at the club.

Yet since finishing his loan at Boro, the Spanish striker has since attracted offers from China, Leeds United and West Brom.

The link with Leeds United could well be that it comes from their new technical director, Victor Orta, who was responsible for bringing Negredo to Middlesbrough.

However let's not forget this is the player who won La Liga's Golden Boot twice with Sevilla, lifted the Premier League trophy with Manchester City and was also part of the Spain squad that won Euro 2012, thrashing Italy 4-0.

The move of Besiktas could be the fresh start Alvaro Negredo needs and it is just waiting for the approval of coach Senol Gunes.
