JOSE MOURINHO celebrated a derby win but still left Houston with a feeling of frustration.
While the win over Manchester City continues Manchester United’s winning pre-season run, the lack of further signings remains a problem for the Red Devils boss.
Romelu Lukaku scored again in the 2-0 victory following his first United goal, the winner in a 2-1 win against Real Salt Lake.
Victor Lindelof had another half with his new teammates but Mourinho is frustrated that he does not have more than those two new players to gel into his squad.
While he did praise executive vice chairman Ed Woodward for getting him two big players early, he fears United are falling behind other Premier League sides in the transfer market.
Mourinho said: “The credit for Lukaku and Lindelof to be here on time is not mine but Ed Woodward’s and I thank him for that fantastic work to bring us two very important players.
“But we need a bit more and when you see the other teams in the Premier League, the way they get players and good players and you see the Champions buy three fantastic experienced players.
“City go to the market and Liverpool and West Ham gets Joe Hart, Chicharito and Arnautovic, West Ham wow, they play to win the Premier League too.

“Other teams can do it also, is not a critic or not understanding the difficulty of the situation.
“I understand the difficulty of the situation.
“The market is open until August 31 but I like to work from day one.”
While it was just a pre-season game in the International Champions Cup, United were clearly delighted with the win on top of a 5-2 victory over LA Galaxy and 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake.
Midfielder Paul Pogba said: “It is a derby, friendly or not we wanted to win against Manchester City and show we are ready.
“It is out third game and we want to keep out winning mentality.”
