Conor McGregor’s camp deny claims he was knocked out during sparring ahead of Floyd Mayweather mega-bout

First it was believed the person who did that was Bradley Wheeler, then Brandon Rios - but neither have even sparred with McGregor

CONOR MCGREGOR was NOT knocked out in a sparring session ahead of his boxing blockbuster against Floyd Mayweather.

That's according to his management team, who have responded to reports over the weekend that Conor tasted canvas.

Former two-weight world champion Jessie Vargas allegedly claimed that The Notorious was KOd in training, and it was believed that this could have been by MMA fighter Bradley Wheeler.

But recent developments have pointed towards the person in question who supposedly dropped McGregor to be lightweight boxer Brandon Rios.

However McGregor's team have laughed off the rumours, insisting that neither have even trained with McGregor, let alone knocked him down.

reports his team as saying: "The guy mentioned by Jessie Vargas is Brandon Rios, not Brad Wheeler.

He said: "The world's gone crazy, My phone's been blowing up. I've been getting texts messages and calls about this. I've never met McGregor, and I don't know who he is."

SunSport reported earlier today how Mayweather himself does not believe McGregor was knocked out.

He told : “Me and Jesse Vargas are in communication. Everything is rumours until I see it, I have to see it with my own eyes.”

Vargas isn’t the first fight to make such claims about McGregor, with Chris van Heerden revealing he went six rounds with the UFC champ and “was not fazed at all.”
