Floyd Mayweather doubts Conor McGregor training KO claims by Jessie Vargas and insists he needs evidence
FLOYD MAYWEATHER insists he doesn’t believe Conor McGregor was knocked out during a sparring match at his training camp.
WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas claims the Irishman hit the deck as he prepares to face Mayweather in late August.
“I’m looking forward to Floyd coming out with a victory by knockout in six, seven rounds. I have no doubt. I actually wanna put some money on it. It’s a 99 per cent win.”
But Mayweather is refusing to believe the hype unless he sees actual footage of the incident.
Vargas isn’t the first fight to make such claims about McGregor, with Chris van Heerden revealing he went six rounds with the UFC champ and “was not fazed at all.”
“He doesn’t move like any other boxer. He’s powerful, fast and light on his feet… He’s very good at getting in and out and connecting. He’s so quick on his feet, it’s very hard to judge the distance with him.
“He’s so fast and unpredictable – that’s a very dangerous combination. I don’t think Mayweather has every boxed anyone like that.”
