Anthony Joshua vs Wladimir Klitschko II looks set for Las Vegas as promoter Eddie Hearn takes T-Mobile arena tour
ANTHONY JOSHUA’S rematch with Wladimir Klitschko appears set for Las Vegas after promoter Eddie Hearn toured the T-Mobile arena.
The Matchroom boss was the mastermind behind AJ’s glorious Wembley coronation in April in front of 90,000 fans and is in talks with the K2 team about a sequel.
The England football stadium is in the running for a second shot at hosting the showdown but Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, Sin City, Dubai and Nigeria all want to host the colossal battle.
All eyes will be on the T-Mobile arena on August 26 when Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather takes place there.
And Hearn has taken a trip to the gambling mecca to run his eye over the 20,000 seater and shared a video of his recce.
The first fight – where AJ added the WBA title to his IBF crown – was perfectly timed to be show on American TV.
That is where the mega-money is and a fight over there – including all the media duties – would help the Watford star break into the global big time.
Speaking about his next move in June, Joshua said: “The last fight put the expectations on a pedestal but it was entertainment.
“We can’t fight too many fights like that but regarding who I’m fighting, I’ve got two options.
“One is a rematch with Klitschko, and we’re waiting to see, and we’re trying to dangle a few carrots to make him bite and spark his interest again.
“The man has achieved great things throughout his career so it takes a lot for him to get motivated and interested again.
"I like the sound of Vegas! I’m ready, I’m ready. I want to be paid all in casino chips, all on red."
