Mattek-Sands was born in Rochester, Minnesota, in the US on March 23 in 1985 - but she is now a resident in Pheonix, Arizona.
The 32-year-old turned pro in 1999 and has gone to become a star doubles.
She has had glory with women's doubles and in mixed competitions.
