Manchester United transfer news: Inter Milan are set to rival Juventus for signature of Red Devils’ ace Matteo Darmian
Inter Milan have revived their interest in Manchester United's wantaway star Matteo Darmian, according to reports from Italy
INTER MILAN are prepared to provide stern opposition to Juventus as they bid to secure the signature of Matteo Darmian.
According to reports from Italy, Inter have rekindled their interest in the Italian, who has been frustrated by his lack game time at United.
Sky Italia have claimed that the Nerazzurri are the latest club to enquire about the services of the 27-year-old.
The news was relayed on Twitter by Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol, who said:
"Sky in Italy: Inter Milan latest Italian club to contact Manchester United about signing full back Matteo Darmian. Juventus also interested".
Juve are also keen to sign the Italy international and a move to Turin would appeal to Darmian, who recently wed Francesca Cormanni in his homeland.
The Italy international also wants regular first-team football with next year's World Cup on the horizon.
However, Mourinho still believes Darmian, who cost £12.7million from Torino two years ago, is a useful squad man.
He played in both full-back positions last season and pulled off one of his finest performances in a United shirt during the club's Europa league win over Ajax.
SunSport revealed last week how Darmian had told Mourinho he was considering his options.
The Portuguse also continues to pursue a deal for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.
The Spaniard has returned early from his honeymoon to thrash out a £70m switch, and a deal is expected shortly.
