FIA announce they are investigating Sebastian Vettel’s crash into Lewis Hamilton at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix

THE FIA have confirmed they are investigating Sebastian Vettel's clash with Lewis Hamilton at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Formula One's governing body have revealed they will announce whether the German will face any subsequent punishment ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix.
The incident in question is when the Ferrari driver rammed into the back of the Brit at Turn 15 of lap 19 when the safety car was deployed in Baku.
In a statement from the FIA, they said: "Following the recent incident at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in which Car 5 (Sebastian Vettel) was involved in a collision with Car 44 (Lewis Hamilton), on Monday £rd July, the FIA will further examine the causes on the incident in order to evaluate whether further action is necessary.
"A statement regarding the outcome of this process will be made available before the upcoming Austrian Grand Prix (7-9 July)."
Hamilton was leading the race at the point of the crash, with Vettel trailing in second, but the 32-year-old ultimately finished in fifth place after he head to pit for a loose headrest.

He dropped further behind his rival in the world championship leaderboard, as he now now sits 14 points behind him after Vettel finished in fourth.
The 29-year-old was handed a ten-second penalty as well as being handed three points on his race license for the collision, with the Mercedes man left fuming at him.
He was left outraged after Vettel turned into him, brandishing his actions as "disgusting" and "disgraceful."
Daniel Ricciardo eventually ended up as the winner of the race, for his first Grand Prix win of the season, and his fourth consecutive podium finish.
