LORENZO PELLEGRINI'S stunning scissor-kick helped Italy to a comfortable 2-0 victory against Denmark in their Euro U21 Championships opener.
With 54 minutes on the clock Federico Bernardeschi's cross into the box wasn't properly cleared by the Danes and Pellegrini was on hand to finish with a spectacular effort.
It was the perfect pre-birthday present for the Italian starlet - he turns 21 tomorrow.
And the game was made safe with four minutes to go when substitute Federico Chiesa squared a lovely ball into the box and striker Andrea Petagna bundled the ball home.
But apart from the welcome three points in their opening Group C game, there was another big talking point from the clash.
