Who is Jordanne Whiley? Great British Menu 2017 guest judge and wheelchair tennis star

JORDANNE WHILEY is a British wheelchair tennis player and doubles specialist.

Whiley has won ALL four of the Grand Slams in doubles tournaments, and also the US Open 2015. She will be hoping the chefs serve up a treat when she's on BBC Two's Great British Menu tonight.

Who is Jordanne Whiley?

While was born on 11 June 1992.

She became Britain's youngest ever national women's singles champion in wheelchair tennis at the age of 14.

Whiley has osteogenesis imperfecta, as does her father Keith.

Keith is also a Paralympian and won a bronze medal in New York.

What has Jordanne Whiley won?

As a singles competitor - Whiley's biggest achievement was winning the US Open in 2015. She has reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open and Wimbledon.

She competed for Great Britain at the 2012 Summer Paralympics - winning bronze alongside Lucy Shuker in the women's doubles, and she also won bronze in the 2016 Summer Paralympics four years later with Shuker in Rio.

Whiley was awarded the MBE in 2015 in the Queens Birthday Honours list.

When is Great British Menu on TV?

Episode 34 of the new series airs TONIGHT (June 15) at 7pm on BBC Two.

Season 12 of the Great British Menu started on May 2 and runs for 45 episodes – the theme this year is 140 Years of Wimbledon.

On tonight’s show, the chefs from the Central region continue their quest to impress this week’s veteran judge, Richard Bainbridge with their desserts.

This week’s guest judge will be Jordanne Whiley MBE, the paralympic bronze medallist and three-time Wimbledon Wheelchair Doubles Champion.

Other guest judges on this series include tennis stars Sue Barker, Tim Henman, Gordon Reid and Annabel Croft.

What happens on Great British Menu?

Professional chefs compete to create a dish fit for a banquet to celebrate a different occasion – this year it’s Wimbledon’s 140th birthday.

24 professional chefs show off their culinary skills in the hopes of being chosen to cook one course for the four course banquet.

One chef each week goes through to the final, where the judges taste the dishes again and award them marks out of ten.

The three dishes that have scored the highest for each course are then put to the public vote.
