Manchester United transfer news: Torino President says Manchester United will have to pay £88m for ace Andrea Belotti
Il Torro's owner says that only a world record bid will pry the Italy international away from the club
ANDREA BELOTTI will only leave Torino for Manchester United if the club stump up £88 million for the forward, says il Torro President.
Umberto Cairo has confirms that Belotti will only leave Torino if his release clause is triggered.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio 24, he said: "I care about Belotti and I’m keeping hold of him.
"He has a contract with Toro until 2021. I would only sell him for €100 million (£88 million), but even then he can refuse.
"The most important thing is what he wants, regardless of the release clause, and I think he wants to stay."
Jose Mourinho has been chasing the Italian international for the past six months as he looks to bring in a top class forward to his squad.
United are in the market for strikers after Zlatan Ibrahimovic was ruled out for eight months and with Wayne Rooney set to leave.
The Italian striker netted 26 times in Serie A last season — and recently signed a new contract with a release clause worth £88 million.
His performances have attracted interest from a host of Premier League clubs including Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man City.
