But recently released reports from cops state "both driver's side tyres were flat" on Woods 2015 Mercedes, which he was driving alone.

The report added "There was also minor damage to both respective rims. There was also minor damage to the front driver's side bumper and rear bumper, and the passenger rear tail light appeared to be out."

Woods released a statement saying alcohol was not to blame for him being found asleep at the wheel and that he had had an "unexpected reaction" to prescription drugs.

The man with more than 100 professional wins added: "I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions."

And there could be similar fallout with the companies who sponsor him now.

Bridgestone, who make golf balls, pay Woods almost £1.5m a year - the same as drinks giant Monster.

Rolex also pay Woods a hefty sponsorship fee, along with golf simulator Full Swing Golf, sports memorabilia maker Upper Deck, motorbike maker Hero Motor Group and Japanese pharmaceutical company Kowa.
