Giro d'Italia starts today and Google has dedicated its doodle to the popular event
ONE of the world’s biggest cycling events is starting again today – and even has its own Google Doodle to celebrate.
This year the famous race is commemorating its 100th edition since it first started and fans will be eagerly looking out for the talented favourites.
The race will end on Sunday May 28.
This year 22 international teams will be competing in the scenic yet gruelling route that takes in some of Italy’s most stunning towns.
How can I watch Giro d'Italia 2017?
Many will flock to watch the cyclists battle for victory in Italy, but you can also watch from home if you wish.
Coverage will be shown on Eurosport 1, which requires a subscription.
However, highlights will be shown on Quest at 10pm – 11pm, which is available on Freeview channel 37, or Sky channel 144.
