INCREDIBLE viewing figures show that Anthony Joshua’s win over Wladimir Klitschko was one of the most-watched boxing matches ever.
The British ace established himself as the world’s top heavyweight with a thrilling victory at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night.
Both fighters hit the canvas before Joshua secured the KO in the 11th round.
And promoter Eddie Hearn is confident it smashed the 1.5million figure set by Manny Pacquiao’s defeat to Floyd Mayweather on Sky Box Office.
Hearn told Radio 5 Live: “We broke British Box Office records on pay-per-view. We can’t tell you the number because it’s too early but the record was 1.5m. [Saturday] beat that for sure.”
But it wasn’t just the Brits who took a keen interest in Joshua at the weekend, with Showtime drawing in an average of 659,000 Americans – according to .
687,000 were watching when Klitschko and Joshua stumbled midway, and the peak audience numbers are expected to reach 700,000.

Meanwhile, broadcaster confirming an astonishing 10.43m Germans tuned in to watch the fight for free.
It beats the 8.91m who saw Klitschko lose to Tyson Fury and had the highest market share amongst viewers since the Ukrainian’s battle against Mariusz Wach in 2012.
