NFL fans spot Patrick Mahomes hitting head on turf and fear it caused injury that hampered Chiefs star against Eagles
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS fans fear Patrick Mahomes suffered a serious head injury after an awful clash that saw his head bounce off the ground.
The Chiefs lost the Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles, who won 40-22 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Mahomes, 29, struggled throughout the NFL showpiece and fans looked back at one incident when Eagles star Jalen Carter took him to the ground.
That was when the star quarterback's head slammed on the ground leaving Kansas City fans worried as they took to social media.
One fan tweeted: "Did Mahomes get concussed early in the game when his head hit the ground?"
Another commented: "Mahomes has gotta be concussed after that."

A third wrote: "Mahomes is playing like he's concussed."
This fan said: "One of the worst games I've ever seen Patrick Mahomes ever play. Been off all game. And maybe this is why. Was he concussed early in this game???"
And that one stated: "Mahomes has had this absolutely glazed over, doofy look every time they cut to him on the sidelines. Is he concussed?"
Mahomes, though, insisted the performance was simply down to the Eagles playing better and him not competing to his standard.
The Chiefs star said after the Super Bowl: "They played better than us from start to finish.
"We didn't start how we wanted to. The turnovers hurt. I take all the blame for that.
"Those turnovers swing the moment of the game and they capitalized on them.
"They scored on one and got a touchdown immediately after another.
"That's 14 points I gave them. It's hard to come back from that in the Super Bowl. I didn't play to my standard and I have to be better next time."
Mahomes also reached out to the fans on social media where he expressed his gratitude for all the support.
He tweeted: "Appreciate all the love and support from Chiefs Kingdom.
"I let y’all down today. I’ll always continue to work and try and learn and be better for it.
"Want to give thanks to God for every opportunity he has given me. We will be back."
